Show Name not Code

Hello,

I am new to Business Central as our company is just going through a conversion from QB to BC.

Is it possible to show the Name not the Code of a selection?

Here you can see the options for selection:

Here you can see that after selecting the code shows, not the name:

I have the same question (0)

I am not sure which page is this but you can personalize the page and check if the name is an available field, if not then you need to do customization to add that field.

Look like dimensions to me. Codes are generally used. In the case of dimensions using a numeric sequence as you have breads grouping benefits. Reports wise - analysis views or account schedules - you can ask for names to appear instead. If you want a page like this to do it then a small modification is needed. If you’re just getting started leaning on your Microsoft partner would be best here. Shouldn’t take too long. Although that depends how many pages you want it on.

If a numeric sequence isn’t going to work because of this residual effect, consider changing the dimensions.

    Hi

As shared looks like you need custo here: I am not sure these fields are part of standard BC, or maybe these are dimension field as shared previously. so maybe you can check this with your partner.

Maybe you just need to add also the field name to the page if you just need to see the name. If you want to use name instead of code, then this is a bit more custo to check where these fields are used and  declared.

    Hope helpful

    Kind regards

    Jerome

Thank you for the reply and I have reached out to our MS Partner.  I have other questions but cant seem to post in the BC forum at all.  How can I post another thread?
