Duplicate Detection on Data Import (.csv file) not working

I am trying to import a list of Contacts with email addresses. I have a Duplicate Detection rule set on the Email field which works when trying to add a new Contact manually. However, when I perform the import from the .csv file, detection does not work and a duplicate is created.

    Hi Joe,

    Please check whether you enable Duplicate Detection During Data Import  by navigating Settings-> Data Management-> Duplicate Detection Settings and ensure that the Enable Duplicate Detection During Data Import option is selected.

    might be a silly question but i want to just check -- did you enable the option once you import CSV as "Allow duplicates" on the last preview page before you click on submit?

    Hi Joe,

    You need to confirm two things.

    1, Please go to Setting > Data ManagementDuplicate Detection Settings, check Enable duplicate detection.

    2, During the process of uploading your file, please select No under Allow Duplicates.

    Hi all,

    Yes, I have enabled both of these options (both under Data Management and during the Import process). As I mentioned, duplicate detection does work on create or update of existing records, just not during an import.
