Inactivate vendor to remove from vendor lists

Is it possible to inactivate vendors in a way to remove the vendors from display in vendor select lists?

Currently in Vendor Maintenance there is no option for inactive - which could be added - but is it possible to adjust the vendor listings to only show active vendors?

    Hello Gbolda,

I believe that we could not make the changes on the standard values which already defined on specific control.

We can include custom PV to display the active vendors on Vendor PV Look up but we need to do customization on standard screen.

    Thanks,

To the best of my knowledge, you cannot add to a list set for a SAFCombo box using Customization Manager.  You can edit the text for the code but not add a code or change the code letter.

You could, however, use one of the user fields with Customization Manager to add an inactive indicator and then you could then filter out any vendor with that user value.  However, that might not be a good idea because, if you accidentally mark a vendor as inactive, you would have no way to pull them back up to fix their status.  I would suggest that you modify the pvrec and underlying store procedure to sort on this user field which would then put the inactive vendors at the end of the list.

We are having the same problem. In a general internet search, I found a post where another customer was re-naming Inactive Vendors to start with XXX or ZZZ, so they all moved to the bottom of the PV List. This would at least group them all together at the bottom. This could help with some of the data entry mishaps, but won't eliminate them.

In our case, the auditors want us to implement a solution to truly 'inactivate' them so this won't work for us, but I thought I'd pass it along as an alternative, as it may be of help to someone else.

In wich screen do you want to filter the vendor list? , because if it uses a different vendor PV, you can modify that PV only , leaving vendor's maintenance screen intact, also is possible to modify only the PV record , for show active vendors only and leave the store procedure without the filter. Doing this, if you call the PV will show only the active vendors, but you can type manually the vendor Id.

Changing a vendor's status to hold, prevents that vendor from showing up in most possible values windows.
