POS allowing price change even if "Must key in price if zero" is NOT checked in functionality profile

When entering an item in D365 POS, it is allowing user to input any value for an item with zero price:

But in functionality profile, the option for "Must key in price if zero" is NOT checked. Then why is the POS still allowing the user to key in a price?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Vysakh,

Please check the key in price setup in the product Master Commerce Fast Tab.

    Hi Marshal,

All the products have the default setting of "Not mandatory". I tested by changing it to "must not key in price", sent the 1040-products job and still the POS is allowing me to input a new price.

    Hi Vysakh,

Kindly noted that to avoid cashier to sell zero price product and add it to cart , you need to Set the parameters of Item master, Zero price valid = No and Key in price = Must not key in price.  Must not key in price is to prevent price changes.

After sending 1040 when you tried to add the product to cart you will have the below error :

    Hi Shaimaa,

The solution you provided worked. But is there a way to not allow price change on the POS on a store-wise basis, instead of modifying the commerce configuration for each item?

If it can be blocked only at item level, then what is the purpose of the "must key in price if zero" option in functionality profile?

    Hi Vysakh ,

Glad to hear that the solution works for you , and unfortunately if you want to prevent selling zero price product this is the setup you need to do on HQ side at item level .

And regarding "Must key in price if zero" parameter i have not a lot of information about it but  it seems there some overlap in these two functionalities. so If the customer’s requirement is to not allow selling any item which shows as zero price, then they can keep the “must key in price if zero” as Off , set the “Zero price valid” to No and  Key in price = Must not key in price on the item.
