Integration Manager - Is there an Upper Limit to the amount of integrations one can do in an integration?

Hello,

I believe I recall hearing somewhere that Integration Manager isn't built for Mass Importing/Integration of Data.  I have about 3,000 Customer Addresses to update in the Address field of Customer Card.  Is this even approaching any kind of upper limit Integration Manager may have?  Is Integration Manager suited for this kind of task, or is there a better module for this task?

Thanks!

Collin

Collin, from my experience over the years there is no 'hard' limit on the number of lines of data.  It often comes from a performance state that I tend to build smaller data sets and run IM several times.

But as noted, that is a personal preference.

I agree with  Bill Campbell , there is no upper limit but it does struggle with large data sets and it is best to break down into manageable chunks , I use the rule of thumb that IM takes about 3 seconds a transaction , so if you want to import more faster you need to start looking a tools like scribe, these will also allow you to do scheduled integrations overnight as well(always good to import large data sets when no one else is using the system).

    +1 for Bill's recommendation.

If this update is just a one time update (or if you plan on running it only very rarely), then I'd use IM.

If you are planning on running the updates daily, you can still schedule it to run during off peak hours, so even if it does take 1 hour or more to complete, this shouldn't pose much of a problem.

    Thanks,

    Justin

You can use IM for 3000 customer ( last week i have integrated 9000+ Inventory records with price list, it was completed in 2-3 hours). If you want to integrate more records (10K +), better split it to multiple files and do one by one.

    Hope this helps!!

Thanks!  I'll break it up into several sets and run it in our Test Company first. But it sounds like IM is up to the task for this one.  Thanks for all yalls help!
