Hi,

Please is it possible to enable field security on individual connections; I only want certain users to view connections relating to their roles and not to be able to view all connections.

Thank you.

    Hi Sirodjon,

Using field security can only hide the value of a field, not an entity.

Therefore, using field security cannot hide connections, only the values of fields of connections.

You could use security roles to control access to connections.

If you want users to only have access to their own connections, then set the Read permission for the Connection to 28501.2.PNGUser.

You could refer to these articles about security roles:

    Hi Lu,

Thank you for your reply. I do not wish to restrict access to connections but fields contained in the connections. An example, if the is a connection between a sponsor and beneficiary, I do not want all users to view the details in the fields. They should be able to see other connections but not this one.

    Hi,
You cannot enable field security on fields from Connection entity. Please check the following screenshot of one of the Microsoft docs. As the fields of Connection entity are not enabled for field Security, it is not possible.

    Hi,

Field level security is recommended option to be secured with the data. but there are some alternative option if you wish to try.

    1. create a new form without the additional(which you wanna hide) fields and enable security role on it. so that they can see only data on form which they are allowed

    2. javascript to show/hide fields based on roles. www.crmanswers.net/.../hide-fields-dynamically-based-on-field.html
