can't cancel remaining quantity due to shipping date

Hi Experts,

I have a sales order with one item, the delivery went in parts. I now have to cancel the remaining quantity but everytime I do I got an error message:

When I tried to change the shipping date to a current or future date, I got this message:

Can you please advice on what else I can do in order to solve this issue? The quantity that has been delivered was already invoiced and I cannot cancel the delivery note anymore.

Hi,

Is the inventory period in May closed?

Please try to cancel the pick quantity from SO line first, then cancel the remainder quantity.

Hi Matt,

There's no active picking list for this SO. There is only one line on the sales order. A quantity of 40, 24 was delivered and invoiced on June 1st. So would that still fall on inventory period of May?

Hi C Wee,

I tried the below scenario in standard contoso data environment:

1. Created a new sales order with back dated requested ship date

2. Add a sales order line with 10 quantity and confirmed the SO

3. Partial delivered and invoiced the order for 4 quantity

4. Cancelled the deliver remainder for the order of 6 quantity

It worked fine and changed the order status to Invoiced.

Can you advise if anything is different in your steps. Also, are you able to reproduce the issue?

Hi Vishal,

Yes that is actually what we normally do, and it usually works. That's why I cannot figure out that error message about the shipping date and how is is affecting the remaining quantity. This is the first time we encounter it.

Hi C Wee,

Looks like the order has created some bad data. Not sure until we debug and find out.

You can ask one of your technical team members to find more details for your after refreshing the data in UAT and debug. Hopefully, you can get some pointers from there. Let me know if any help is needed from my side.

Hi,

Could you show us the line quantity form of the item?

Is the SO intercompany order or direct delivery order?
