item UOM not populated automatically based on base UOM

After importing a config package for items, I noticed the Configuration Package (Table 27), which has the base UOM value for item, doesn’t populate the item unit of measure page (5404) with the base UOM as a default. For example, item xyz has base UOM in PCS, it should auto populate the item UOM page with PCS as a default value.

When I manually create an item and populate the base UOM, BC brings it over to the item UOM page.

Any idea why and how to enable BC to auto populate it? I could add an extra line in my config package for table 5404, but that would be extra data to enter.

Its the standard functionality where Table 5404 needs to updated first before you upload config package for items.

Hi, This field does not have Validate Field enabled by default in the Configuration Package. I suspect this is the reason. You can try turning it on.

Check whether the Base Unit of Measure is validated in your Configuration Package.
