Hi all,

I have a situation in my company such that we have two forms A & B, form A has a sub grid which is related  to Entity B (Form A is parent and form B is related entity to A).

Under sub grid menu we have two option on top right corner, one for adding the fields and other for listing out the fields to related to Form A.

I want to restrict access of adding the forms in sub grid to one only. How to do it using coding or any other tools? Please explain me in detail as I'm new to the development.

Use the ribbon workbench to remove/disable Create button in subgrid..

    1.install the Ribbon Workbench

    ribbonworkbench.uservoice.com/.../71374-1-getting-started-with-the-ribbon-workbench

2.Create a new solution and add the entity from which you want to remove create button on subgrid

3.Open the Ribbon Workbench and then select the solution you just created.

    4. And also follow the steps mentioned here

    Hey its not working

It is hiding the buttons only for command bar and the ribbon navigation pane.

There is no support for Sub Grid Customization.

We have a row named sub grid in ribbon workbench, but it is not making any changes to our sub grid in the form

    Hi Vignesh,

You are correct. The subgrid customization (ribbon customization) is not supportable and cannot be customized, different from CRM 2011.

It only works for the Associated View, not subgrid in the Form.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

Can u try in this way if that works. If you want hide + button on the Subgrid  the user shouldn't not have Create permissions in CRM.  If the user has create permissions, the + will appear, if not, it will not. The only method of hiding the button would be unsupported DOM manipulation e.g. getElementById or some such (not recommended)...

So is there any other possibility to hide it??

If you want the users only to select the existing record, you need to make the lookup field to the parent/related entity as not required.

    Thanks.

Hey that is not possible because  as the user need to have the access to create new forms when needed.

did you manage to solve your problem? I'm in the same situation, I need to hide the 'add button' from a subgrid, that shows some opportunities in the account form, but I cannot change the permissions from these entities, or change the relationship between the entities.
