Custom Pages & Model Driven Apps

I work for a small non-profit and I have a model driven app and was thinking of adding a couple custom pages but everyone uses the per app. I am wondering if by adding custom pages if it will require another app or require the per user license or anything at all additional.

I found the below information and wanted to ensure I was reading it correctly that it would not cause any licensing issues as long as I use pages and not apps. So I thought I would ask the professionals.

  • What licenses are allowed to use a custom page and does a custom page impact app counts?

The custom page uses a special canvas app type, which allows it to be managed differently. The custom page is considered part of the model-driven app infrastructure and can only be used within a model-driven app. So, it follows the license for the model-driven app. Also, custom pages don't count toward the app limits because they're treated as a page instead of an app.

    Hi Bahalzamon,

The general process is shown in the link below.

If you need to add a custom page to an existing product (e.g. Dynamic 365 Sales), then a license is required.

Haig Liu Thank you for the reply but let me help clarify.

I am completely aware how to to create and implement custom pages.

I do not have any of the modules, just plain Dynamics and assigning a per app license grants that user access. I am wondering if by adding a custom page will it consume another per app license? Do they need a per/user license?

Because per the below pulled from MS page it sounds like it will not.
