Data Migration on Test using Kingswaysoft

From what I have read it appears that Kingswaysoft is free to use to migrate data unless we use it as a scheduled job but in my case  I only wanted to populate the existing data from a Test on-premise instance to a Test online instance.

Does this sound feasible with only using the Kingswaysoft developer licence and running the data jobs from my SSDT environment. Any pointers to potential issues before I investigate further with this approach ?

    It is feasible.

You can use Kingsway developer license for all development as mentioned above.

You will hit a roadblock ONLY when you try to import data into a Production instance.

Many thanks for the reply. I do not plan to use this in Production at the moment. So you see no issues in using the Kingswaysoft free licence to load multiple entities via SSDT and there are no record limits (like Scribe) ?

Nope, I was able to load my environment data, I think it was close to 4400 contacts in one of my trial instances, using the SSDT and Kingsway Soft.

The only thing that you will have to do is mapping of lookup records. If you target Online environment doesn't have any record, you will only have to deal with User and Team records.

The Guids of these records in both environments might be different, so you have to make sure they will be linked. You can usually do this by using a staging database of users/teams or looking up these values in the target environment.

    Hope this helps.
