Hi.

does anyone know if/how/where i could set a stock movement menu to prevent items that are stock blocked, and on inventory status ON HOLD from being mvoed with this mobile menu. or it is somewhere like on the worker, location profile etc. etc. any help much appreciated, the aim is to not let a worker moved from the location ON HOLD stock.

    Hi tl82,

What is your full requirement here? Do you want to restrict all items with "ON HOLD" for all users? Or are there any exceptions where certain workers may move these goods? When there are goods on-hold, it this all on-hand for a single item or only a part of the on-hand?

Are you only working with the inventory status dimension or have you also enabled the Stopped parameter for inventory on the item?

its okay i have found the answer myself. i have created a menu where it will only let you move FROM AVAILABLE and not FROM ON HOLD, by default data set up. this stops the whole process.

Can you explain what you did to create this menu to only allow movement of available stock? We are trying to disallow users from moving items that are on hold.

    Thanks,

    Brian

    Hi Brian8

you can use the standard stock movement menu item as long as you have two stock statuses that are something like 2on hold" for blocked stock and "available" for non blocked stock.

then in the mobile select the default data flag to yes and this enables the default data field as shown here:

then do something like this in the default data, depending on your specific requirements e.g. is it certain locations, warehouse etc. etc. etc. Basically a tweak on what i did myself to move from and to different stock statuses.

I did exactly the same on our implementation.

Thank you. This will not work for us as we need to move finished goods which have status other than available. However, what did work for us, was changing our input location ID to not allow mixed statuses and because our input locations have available products in them which are going to be consumed in production, if a user tries to move a blocked stock item to this location it will error. This isnt perfect due to the fact if the input location is empty we could move a blocked item to it, but that is improbable as our input locations never are empty so the risk is very low. I just wanted to throw this out there incase anyone else runs into the same issue we were having.

    thanks,

    Brian.

yes Brian8 i had something similar with another stock status in the mix, and this also fell over due to that. it would be good if you could select on the mobile devices stock statuses you dont allow, which i haven't found a way myself to do.
