MR export does not work on server

When I go to Company ->Building Blocks and export on the server after about a second MR becomes unresponsive and Task Manager is the only way out. It appears that the workstations work fine. Any suggestions what I can check on the server. There is nothing in the event viewer or MR log files.

What CU is it on?  I know not too long ago there was a bug introduced by a windows update in that window where if you moved the cursor over the grid, it would crash MR.  You could bypass it by carefully keeping the mouse outside of the grid and exporting that way.  There was a hotfix to resolve it.  Not sure if that's what you are experiencing or not.

This sound like a permissions issue to the Management Reporter files location that shows in Tools > Options of the designer.  This is the default location that MR will attempt to save a TDBX.

Depending on the version of MR that is currently running, this could also be a bug with a security update that caused the designer to crash when a mouse pointer was moved over the Report Definitions grid.

The workaround for this issue is to not hover the mouse over any Report Definitions in the import/export window -- use select all button to select the reports

    • This workaround is a bit touchy. What I have been doing is selecting the Export button and moving my mouse pointer quickly to the bottom of the screen. I then move the mouse pointer up from the bottom to click on the Select All button. I then move around the outside edge of the screen and come in from the top to select the other Definition tabs.

    • The issue only affects the Report Designer tab

The resolution was implemented in the CU13 update.

Two excellent suggestions. Thank you both. This did the trick.

Above workaround is excellent and it is working without removing the KB3059317

    Thanks once again.
