Hi All,

Whenever we cancel the request for an approval request the no. of archived versions increases to 1.

Is this a bug ?if yes how could this be mitigated. I need your suggestions.

    Indira,

I believe this is the out-of-the-box functionality as the Document Status, when cancelled, is set to Open and when a Document Status is updating it will create an Archived version. This is the Archive feature in that a version is created when changing the status.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

    Steve

    Steve,

    Thanks for this.

So in this case when an approval is being canceled the status is changing that is okay, but the version should not increment because it is a cancellation.

If I have got the idea correctly.

Also I was traversing through the code I see functions being called on cancel but I am unable to get to the point where the status is being changed.

    Your help is needed.

    Regards,

    Indira

    Hi All,

    The solution was

on cancelation I set a value that was global in a codeunit

On Status Change to Open I added a piece of check

    if onCancel = False then

    begin

    Call Archive function

    end;

in case of doubts let me know
