How to compare two BOMs?

Hi All,

Is there a report in D365 F&O that will print two BOMs side by side for comparison? 

I came across following useful information. However, it appears only to be available as a china specific feature. Can this feature be installed on non-china based legal entities like mine?

    Standard report besides that, I am not aware of any. It is possible to create an extension to enable that CN report in other region.

    Is creating an extension a job for developer? Is there any documentation available for this?

    I have also posted this on D365 ideas page to get Microsoft's attention.

    yes, it a developer task. You can the base documentation for this on https://docs.microsoft.com/pt-pt/dynamics365/fin-ops-core/dev-itpro/extensibility/modify-edt

    Is not uncommon to backport features of other countries when is not a legal functionality. D365 allows to customize that.

    Hi Amit Bhawalkar,

    We don't have OOB any report that can show 02 BOMs comparison side by side but creating a custom report should'nt be complex task based on BOM version.

    Please also share the link of idea that you posted so we can also vote for that.

    Hi Amit

    The system actually do have a BOM comparsion report. You are not specific on what you want to compare but we do have a BOM calculated cost comparison report so you can compare cost of 2 BOM's Active vs Pending.
