In the Item Ledger Filter Option : How can I filter the description column to search for similar descriptions? It seems to only filter based on exact matches

When filtering, it by default uses exact match, and just using * is not enough.

To search for "contains", you should use the following syntax:

@*searchvalue*

i.e. if you the item 'ATHENS desktop', and you want to find this using the word desk, you would type @*desk* in the filter bar. This would give you all entries containing the word 'desk' regardless of case and position.

@ = ignore case

* = open ended

If you just typed @desk*, you would not find it, since you would be missing the 'ATHENS desktop' from the search criteria.
