We'd like to be able to see if a contact record has data rows in a related entity from looking at the menu bar within the contact's record, versus having to navigate to the related entity itself to see if data exists. For example, if a contact has four related addresses, we'd like to see Addresses (4) display in the menu, with the four being a count of the available records on that entity.

Does anyone know if this is possible and/or has tried it?

Hi,

SiteMap xml is responsible for the navigation in CRM but it does not provide support to execute any javascript, so you can't display this number in the SiteMap navigation but you can use roolup field as suggested to have the count of the related entity record.

Hi Jennifer,

Not sure what you mean when you say "menu bar" but on a contact record you can very well create a rollup field to count the related records.

you can put his field on the main view or on the form.
