I can no longer build SSRS reports with Custom Parameters

Hi all,

Just a quick question regarding SSRS reports using visual studio and dynamics 365. We've previously built a custom report using custom parameters built into the query of the dataset. The paramaters worked fine and we were able to build it setting the TargetServerVersion to SQL Server 2008.

I've recently come back to the report to make some modifications but it appears that I can no longer build the report as the SQL Server 2008 does not support Custom Parameters. Has something changed since the upgrade of V9.0 in CRM or has there been any updates to Microsoft Visual Studio 2015?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi MikeC282,

Try changing the Target Server Version to SQL Server 2008 R2, 2012 or 2014.

    Hi Adrian,

Tried that and got the same error. It's failing to build a report that's already working and live in the CRM just because it had custom paramaters. Not sure why it's causing this issue now.

    Hi Mike,

Were you able to see those report parameters under dataset properties when you were building the report. Also could you try setting Allow Blank and Nullable to True in the report parameter properties and verify.

    Thank you.

    Hope it helps..
