Power Apps with Business Central

Hi,
We started looking into using Power Apps for Business Central. We were able to link a Rest API as the data source and RIMD records from the table and it works well.

We got a question why we would need to make use of Power Apps. Out of a costing stand point. Why would a user rather use Power Apps than Business Central Mobile?

Can anyone please give me an couple of examples/scenarios of power Apps you created for clients and what the clients hoped power Apps will resolve in their business processes?

Thanks in advance

Hi, for example, customers want to see not only BC data in the App, but also data from other systems, such as CRM, or data in M365, such as Schedule. Power Apps can simply integrate these contents, but Mobile App cannot.
Another simple reason is that customers are not satisfied with the UI of Mobile App and want to customize a more convenient one.

For BC22.x and previous versions, there are two functions that must be achieved using Power Apps. (This will be resolved in the latest version)
    1. Scan QR code
Business Central 2023 wave 2 (BC23): Print and scan barcodes (No customization): https://yzhums.com/43220/
    2. Edit the WorkSheet page.

As the customers are different, the reasons should also be different. I hope this information can give you some tips.

    Thanks

For most cases use the Business Central mobile app.

For specific needs you can develope apps with power apps using the default Business Central connector providing some default tables.
If needed you can use virtuals tables and api pages to get more data sources.
Especially for warehouse and production area you can provide apps to customers.

For a complex example with many topics around power apps and bc ckeckout my last blog post.
