Unable to Print General Journal from Historical Year

Posted on by 14,849

Dear

I am trying to print a General Journal of a posted transaction from a historical year.

Dynamics GP only shows you the transaction for open year transactions in the "General Journal Inquiry"

is it possible that this is not available if we want to print from a historical year

Regards

Thank you very much for your clarification,

i will use the "Cross Reference Report" for now, until we upgrade to GP 2013

    Thank you very much

Oh, okay. We are clear now

Well, prior to GP 2013 the journal entry inquiry window retrieves the journals in the open year only. In GP 2013, a new feature was introduced to retrieve both open and historical journals from the Journal Entry Inquiry window.

In this essence, you will have to consider the other approach provided above which is the "Cross Reference Report ".

Your feedback is highly appreciated ,

The Journal entry inquiry shows both open and history journals. See below screen shot as taken for a test company with (2010,2011,2012,2013 and 2014) are closed.

To make sure, go to Reports > Financial > Cross Reference . On this report, choose the open or history year and put in your journal entry to be printed. See below
