Hi Everyone,

USD isn't running properly on one of our computers. We want to uninstall the program - but we can't figure out the correct way to uninstall. Does anyone know, or have any suggestions?

Thanks,
Kimberly

    Hi luoyong,

Are you looking to uninstall the USD Client or Solution?

For the Client, is it appearing in Control Panel/ Programs/Uninstall a Program ?

It should appear there (it does on mine), but you likely also want to delete the folder at C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics CRM USD afterward as well. The uninstaller won't catch all client customizations made.

No, it does not display in control panel or installed programs.

    Thanks.

Then you should just be able to delete it at the path I indicated.

    Hi luoyong,

    How do you access USD?

Where is it displayed? What is the behavior/error you get?

I double click the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics CRM USD\USD\UnifiedServiceDesk.exe to use USD. When I delete the USD CRM 2013 SP1 with Product Updates Customization solution, it display error:

    RE: How to Uninstall USD

Ok., so you're talking about two completely different things:

On your local desktop, there is an application called USD.  This is the local part of USD, and you can simply delete it off your computer to stop using it.

Completely separate from that are the parts of USD that go into your CRM system.  So in CRM, what you are going to need to do is go into the Solution you're trying to delete and deactivate every single workflow and process in the system.  That's what the error is about, it's telling you that there are active workflows with dependencies that can't be removed as they're active in your CRM.

Keep trying to deactivate more processes and eventually you should have all the USD stuff turned off, and will be able to remove the solution.

For future reference, I strongly recommend installing USD in its own CRM instance the first time you try it.  Don't even install it in a development environment, install it in a place where you can wipe away the entire CRM instance.  USD digs deep into CRM and interacts with a whole lot.  Until you're sure you want to put in into your CRM for real, keep it separate.
