We have purchased 20 Supply Chain Management (SCM) Base licenses on a yearly basis. Now, we need to use the Demand Planning functionality in Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations, which requires the SCM Premium license. In this case, is it possible to upgrade our existing SCM Base licenses to SCM Premium? If yes, please advise on the process for upgrading and provide details on any cost implications involved.

    Hi,

    There are options to swap licenses, but you will need to contact your CSP or EA partner. Prices and possible discounts can be discussed with them. When and how you can exchange licenses depends on the contract type and duration.

    As of today the price difference on the public records is $90 per license. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics-365/products/supply-chain-management/pricing
     
    But that is not the real world prices, as with bulk purchase and over the years, you may get different discounts. Microsoft also used to provide upgrade discount of 25% for the first three years, which I am not sure if they do or not anymore.
     
    As mentioned by Andre, you would need to find out who is your license partner and speak to them.
