CRM Online Spring 14 - Add Custom Connection subgrid to Opportunity form with add button

Hi All,

I am trying to add a sub-grid that tracks a custom connection category similar to SALES TEAM or STAKEHOLDERS but for partner accounts.  On a basic level I can do this but unlike the two examples, the + button is missing.  Is there any way to add this, or is it something to do with the partially implemented Inline Edit capability?

Here is the SALES TEAM view with the + button:

And my custom sub grid with no + button:

What's most frustrating is that I can delete connections from this custom view when hovering over an entry (the garbage bin button appears), but I have to open the full grid view and then launch the add connection creation form to create a new one.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Iain

It's really a annoying bug the + button in multiple ways. I will give it a try to the solution you provide to bypass this issue.

    Thanks!

Hi, I'm sure that the product team aware of this kind of issue. I think that the issue is creating one solution that fits everyone's requirements. If you are going to have a fully editable grid then it must consider validation and have support for mandatory/custom events etc. This is why I created http://www.sparkleXrm.com to make it easier to create custom functionality that exactly fits your needs.

    Cheers,

    Scott

Thanks for the answer, it doesn't really help, but I get it.  There are a lot of little frustrations like this that really reduce the user experience and it for me reduces the usefulness of the connection feature.  There have been hints and promises for inline editing for ages, and there has been progress, but still not for custom.  Is this something that is being addressed for future releases?

    Hi,

The stakeholder view is a special connection grid - unfortunately you can't use it for custom views.

    Hope this helps,

    Scott
