Restrict On Hand Inventory to 2 customers

Hi and thanks for any help you can provide;

The situation is this: There is plenty of on hand inventory that is maintained to provide quick delivery for only a few customers. Any other customer that wants the same product can only be fulfilled in a make-to-order scenario. They will need to wait several weeks to get the product, while the preferred customers are shipped the product from the inventory on hand. 

Is this possible? If so, how?

    Did you try inventory tracking dimension owner ? same as Batch and Serial number?

    First thing that comes to my mind is to use inventory status to restrict the reservation. It does require a bit of admin both inbound and in order management to make sure it gets aligned.

    But basically, you assign an inventory status to the inventory to make sure that it cannot be reserved unless order management specify it. Some small mods can automate this if there are established business rules.

    We do have WMS running, yes.

    No, I have not tried that. But the key here is that only certain customers are able to get access to inventory on hand. I have to do something different to the customers - the first thing I thought of was Filters - to insure that they can reserve available inventory but only them.

    I think I see where you're going with this. In essence, restrict it for everyone, but allow certain customers to get the on hand inventory. That's what the issue is it seems, but if it would need a developer, that's a different situation for us.
