Job Queue Stopped & Custom Field Data Cleared Unexpectedly

Hello Everyone,

 

I’m facing a strange issue in Business Central and would like some guidance.

On Friday(29-8-25), everything was working fine in my environment. I have job queues that use data from some custom fields I created. However, when I checked again on Monday, I found that the setup data in those custom fields was completely blank.

Here’s what I observed:


  • On Saturday(30-8-25) around 5 PM, one of my job queues stopped working.

  • The error message in the Job Queue Log was:
    The server stopped the session (ID: 150706) because of a stop session request

  • Once the setup data was gone, the job queues depending on it also failed.

  • The same issue occurred in another environment as well, where no job queues are even running.

  • I did not publish any new extensions or updates during this period.

  • There was also no Microsoft update applied to the environment over the weekend.

  • I also checked the change log entries the other day but it was empty(Yes I have a change log setup)

Has anyone else faced this kind of issue where custom field data from a setup page disappears unexpectedly and job queues stop with a stop session request error?
What could be the possible reasons for this behavior?

    If your Change Log was enabled and nothing in log entries, that mean data was not changed by a user but updated by system or other automate functionality.

    Hi,

    Have you previously installed your API as PTE instead of DEV in Extension Management?
    If it is installed as DEV and an update occurs, your app will be uninstalled, and all your objects will disappear.

    I recommend reinstalling the app as PTE, so that even if an update occurs in the environment, your app will remain intact.
