server client installation question

I'm considering GP for my company and I'm wondering about the server requirements.

Does GP install on a server, and each user installs a client application on their PC, or is GP designed to run only on a server where people connect using Remote Desktop?

    User can access GP in two ways. One is install GP on a server and each user install a client application on their PC with creating SQL datasource for GP. Another is install GP on a server with citrix configuration and give permission to users. User can access GP via citrix receiver.

    Now the GP 2013 has a new feature Web Client. We can install GP 2013 on a server with web client and give permissiotn to users. Then users can access GP via Interner Explorer.

    In addition to Soma's excellent answers, you can also RDP in via terminal server, as stated in your question.
