Has anyone been able to get the JournalConverter.exe to work when upgrading a database from RMS 2.0 to POS 2009? When I run it I get the following:

Error occured: value cannot be null
Parameter Name: type

Thanks,
Kevin

So I guess no one has run into this issue yet, but me. I did finally figure out what was wrong. I was attempting to run the JournalConverter on a machine that had POS 2009 installed but did not have RMS 2.0 installed. After reviewing the help documentation and digging in a little further I did read that you need to have POS 2009 and RMS 2.0 installed on the same machine while you do the upgrade process, so the JournalConverter utility can run.

     Hi Kevin.

I have been trying to get my hands on the JournalConverter and the rest of the tools required to migrate to POS 2009.

Do you know where I could get hold of them?

I am also in need of:-

    POSTools.chm
    RmsMigration.sql
    TaskPadHelper.exe
    UserPasswordReset.exe

    Can you help?

    Thanks in advance.

    Simon.

I believe the only place you can get those files is from:

    https://mbs.microsoft.com/partnersource/support/selfsupport/productreleases/POS2009NFR.htm

    Hi Kevin

I don't have access to this. Is their anyway you could email them to me?

    Thanks.

You should be able to get them from your partner.

For some reason they are refusing to supply it to use?

That is why I am resorting to the forums. I want to migrate from RMS v2 to POS 2009, but I need these database tools to do so.

Simon, did you ever get your hands on those files?  I am in need of the same as well.  If possible please direct me to the download link.  As I can't afford a CustomerSource account

You have to be on maintenance to get to those files. Why would they want to let you migrate for free when everyone else pays. POS programs are not freeware, and if you want to keep up to date on your program, no matter which one, you generally have to pay a maintenance fee, or pay for each upgrade.
