How can I track what users are searching in CRM?

Is it possible to track users who are using "Advance Find" or who are using a specific filter in "Advanced Find"

Example: John clicked on Advance Find and he is searching a certain lead that was created today?

Will I be able to see that on the logs or somewhere?

Do I need to create a plug in of some kind or a view or a dashboard?

Thanks

    Hi,

Out of box CRM doesn't provide any method to track this. However you can think about writing plugin, that can trigger or advanced search / search . You have do it for retrieve multiple message.

Please refer below to get an idea on this.

    Hi Rob,

Yes there is no such OOB way to do this you have to write your custom logic for achieving this requirement.

    Thanks Mansoor.

I'm very new on CRM developing.

    I understand Guru's logic.

How can I incorporate so it will also show who was running the query?

    Hello Rob,

    Thank you for  your query.

As rightly mentioned that  there is no OOB functionality for tracking what the users are searching.

However, as written, you can create a plugin that gets triggered while we search anything.

You can also enable auditing to trace the actions performed.

Can I know the version of CRM that you are working on ?

Example : Considering you are using CRM 2011, I am sharing a document with you  can check how you can set auditing on various entities to keep a track of them.

    I hope this helps.

Do inform me if you have any update about the same. Feel free to reply here and I'll be glad to assist you.
