The workflow expansion task is used to determine if the actual workflow needs to be performed on a specific record.
I'm not sure what happens if you try to cancel it. From what I've seen, by the time you see that message, it's finished or almost finished processing.
Mitch is right on with this one, as he usually is. If you are concerned about the Workflow Expansion Tasks there is a registry key that was provided as part of Update Rollup 3. If you add this regkey, CRM will automatically delete the expansion task once it's complete.
If you have a large asyncoperatoinbase table use this with caution as it can slow down workflow processing.

hi i have a problem with my workflow, they worked well until I configure the IDF to the IDF CRMTool. Now these do not work and the system appears Workflow job task expansion on hold.Please I need help.Thanks
