ReportReport

Hi,

I have a report which works fine for admins. But for the other users who have different security roles with user level permissions on report are seeing blank report. Looking at the log files I found these lines which I am not sure of what happened.

Error:

INFO: RenderForNewSession('/xxxxxxx_MSCRM/CustomReports/{7630e14a-2344-e311-93fa-74867aa3n5dg}')
webserver!ReportServer_0-1!d04!02/27/2015-11:03:31:: i INFO: Processed report. Report='/xxxxxxx_MSCRM/CustomReports/{7630e14a-2344-e311-93fa-74867aa3n5dg}', Stream=''

Thanks

    Hi Roxanna,

Check the security roles of users getting a blank report to ensure they have atleast Read permissions on the entities you are reporting..

    Hope this helps!

    RE: Blank report

I've checked the security role and they have user level permissions to Create, Read and Write. The same log shows up if I run a successful report and the user's blank report. So I am confused how to proceed further.

    Roxanna,

Blank report is shown to users when they don't have permissions on the records you are querying. The report doesn't throw any error in this case.

    Try this:

For which ever entity you are reporting on... login to CRM as the user experiencing blank report and search for the records. If he doesn't see the records there then there is no issue with the report. The user never has access to those records so nothing comes-up in the report too.

Tried your suggestion. The user has Salesperson role and has the permissions to access reports and only read permissions to the entity records.

Were you able to login to CRM as that User and view the records ( not in report but in some view)?

How are you building the report? Is it through wizard or using a query? I would check the query by passing user details...

    RE: Blank report

I've figured out that the report query needs to be tweaked a little bit according to my requirement.

I've been using Inner Join  in the query and it is failing on null values and showing blank report. So I've used Left outer join and it worked.
