SOP Line accounts are missing or invalid

Several invoices are getting the following error message when trying to post:

One or more line items contain warnings or errors

ERROR:  Line accounts are missing or invalid

The accounts are all active and allow posting.  There is a zero line at the bottom of the line items and a zero line in the Distribution screen.  Neither can be deleted.

What causes this error and how can we fix it?

    Have you checked the Line level account distributions?  Also, Sales transactions will not post unless there are default COGS, Inventory, and Sales accounts set in either Posting Accounts, at the Customer card, or at the Item Card.  It doesn't matter if it's an inventory item or not - those default accounts must be populated.
