Is there a way to setup GST for expense entry which will allow for staff put their expenses though BP that includes GST but when it ultimately gets posted it goes to the right GST and Expense account?

Thanks

    Hi

For SL, we need to setup the GST tax ID with Sales Account (OUT PUT)  & Purchase Account (IN PUT) details in Tax Maintenance Screen (21.280.00)  under Shared Information module.

Then define the GST tax  ID in Vendor Maintenance screen under Default Tab. While creating an invoice through Vocuher / Adjustment Entry or Quick Voucher Entry screens, system will create the separate entry for GST based on the assigned Tax ID.

I hope there won't be any separate setups for BP.

    Hope this Helps

    Thanks & Regards

    Thanks Santhosh,

But I'm actually after the expenses entered through the Project Module in Solomon and BP. Not the financial Module, I did try flagging it as taxable under expense type maintenance but then the full cost (cost plus GST)gets posted in to the GST account in the general ledger.

I want to know if there Is a way that the expense types are set up to function the same way as the AP module does?

for example when a staff member puts in their expenses via project module in solomon is there a way they can either put in the Ex GST amount against an expense type and the system calculate the applicable GST and post it in the relevant GST account or where they put the full total including GST under a expense type and they system to take away the GST component and post it in the GST account and the expense component in the expense account?

The TAX flag does what it says in help. The employee enters tax reclaimable as a separate entry on expenses. If it is a requirement to reclaim this Tax and enter it on the expense line, I suggest you reach out to Renown in Australia. They have expertise in this area.
