search for text in attachment in custom self-service portal

Hello all,

I've attached one file to notes in knowledge article in interactive service hub and this attached file contains some data, suppose data in the attached file is "Hello world.". So, requirement is that whenever I'm trying to search for the content which is in the attached file it not showing any results. For example, if I'm searching for "Hello" word in the custom self-service portal it is not showing any results. Any idea or suggestions how can i achieve this?

Thanks,

Herry

    Hi,

If you want this available in Dynamics 365, you can enable Relevance Search instead of Global Search. That searching will scan the content of notes (details community.dynamics.com/.../improved-search-capabilities-in-dynamics-365-with-relevance-search )

If you're building a search yourself and you want to search notes, you're going to have a much tougher time. For any search, you'd have to query for all your notes, get the document body and convert it to plain text, then search the content for your search criteria. It's going to be awfully slow and intensive. I suppose you could have a new entity with a field that contains the content of the document and run queries on that - but that wouldn't be perfect either because of all the overhead.

Hope this helps! I'd appreciate if you'd mark this as Answering your question.

    Thanks,

     Aiden

    Hi Aiden,

    Thanks for the help,

As I've said that I'm searching in customer self-service portal in that I'm not able to get expected output. Is there any other way to do so?

    Thanks,

    Herry
