Item Lookup - Blocks entire screen

Hello, 
 
There has been an update on BC from microsoft that broke item lookup , the selected popup will not work - it will not allow to search or select anything or close the popup. Our only solution was to select advanced view and then it works. 
if anyone has an idea on how to auto select advance view for all users, let me know.
