Requisition worksheet doesn't take purchase orders with delivery date in future into account

I'm using the lot-for-lot replenishment system for my items with a safety stock.
Whenever I'm below the safety stock and I run the requisition worksheet, it suggests correctly the quantity that I have to purchase.
I execute my requisition worksheet in order to have my purchase orders created.
I send my purchase order to my vendor and when I receive my confirmation, I add my promised delivery date (and add the date to my lines).
When I run my requisition worksheet again, it suggests again to purchase the quantity to have enough safety stock, although that I have a purchase order in the future.
When I put my promised delivery date of my purchase order again to today and I run the requisition worksheet, it suggests nothing (which is correct as I already have a purchase order).

Can someone help me to solve this problem? I'd like to work with the safety stock, requisition worksheet AND to fill in the promised delivery date of my purchase orders.

No solution in working with SKU's, releasing the purchase orders ...

This is actually standard behavior, so the good news is you aren't doing anything wrong.  Since moving the delivery date into the future moves the supply past the need date, the system is going to suggest a new PO and to cancel your existing PO (assuming you aren't changing the Planning Flexibility on the PO line).

Try to run your Req. Worksheet with your Start Date being the Delivery Date promised by your Vendor.  Does this resolve your suggestion for a new PO?  Essentially telling the system you've planned up to that date and you're only planning from that date forward.  I didn't have time to test your scenario, but please give this a shot and let us know if it helps.

I'm not sure if lot for lot and safety stock should be used together, lot for lot is to get the actual demand for a certain period of time, say 2 weeks. BC will create a purchase order for demand within 2 weeks.
safety stock is more on the fixed quantity side and is usually used with min qty, max qty.
on the other hand, you mentioned that after receiving confirmation from vendor, you fill out the delivery time. You need to check the delivery time to ensure it doesn't fall out of the lot for lot range. If it does, BC will think the supply is in the future and will suggest a supply for the near date per date parameters on sku and item planning worksheet.

    Hi,

    Many thanks for your answers.
Indeed, if I run the requisition worksheet in the future (promised delivery date of PO), then it doesn't suggest to reorder the quantity.
However, I'm purchasing a lot of items at different vendors with different lead times, so I can't really set my date to the future (also risky to not include sales orders I guess).

When working with lot-for-lot I can only change the safety stock, not the min qty, reorder point, max qty ...
If I try the same scenario with fixed reorder quantity or maximum quantity as reordering policy, I get the same results.
BC doesn't take the future purchase orders into account and will reorder the items.
