Send quote/invoices direct to customer via emakl

Having wasted so much time on the mail merge option of sending quotes, it's just far too many clicks required to send an email to someone

We need a product that just sends a report or allows us to create a standard quote template.

That will then allow us to, once setup, to simply click on a quote and select "Email direct to potential customer" (whoever the potential customer is on the quote)

We have CRM working with our outlook clients so we can send direct emails via templates at the moment.

But we can't find a way to send a quote to a client without having to do the mailmerge (which doesn't work properly because we cannot put the tax, total amount fields after the products the way we want it to)

    Hi Barry,

You wont be to do this with a single click using out of the box functionality. You could consider using a third party solution.

Alternatively you could look at the Document template functionality introduced in the 2016 version.

Why is it so complicated to send a quote to customer direct by email.

We aren't due to get the 2016 upgrade for online until September

Do you or anyone else know a really cheap add-on which allows this.

I've checked out DocumentCorePack (£330) a year O_O if it was a one-off cost at around £100 or less we wouldn't mind so much.

iotap 1-click-pdf (got told it doesn't work with 2016)

Sage Accounts do it with one click.

There are a few third party solutions that offer roughly what we are looking for, but they are either too complex for the end user to work with, or they cost far too much.

The CRM subscription for the year is 1/12th of the cost of some of these solutions, whats the point in paying 12 times the subscription fee for a solution that does a simple thing.

We'd be better off moving to another product if we are going to pay 1000% more a year for a solution, just to send some quotes direct by email.

We are looking for the same thing!  Having just switched from Salesforce, we're shocked at how limited Dynamics can be.  This is a perfect example.  I couldn't believe it when someone showed me how to send a quote via email, the number of steps is staggering.  It's ridiculous there's no one click button to just "Send quote via email" to a customer which would at least open a new email with it as an attachment.  I tried 1-Click PDF as I have 2016 Online but it doesn't work, says it's activated but under Reports it's just blank in the drop downs.  So now we don't even use the Quotes module in Dynamics and are using a completely separate 3rd party quoting system that doesn't even talk to Dynamics just because users were complaining it's too much work to email a quote.

We shouldn't have to pay $350+ just for basic functionality which pretty much every CRM including the free ones has.  I personally like Dynamics but I'm getting a lot of heat now from management as to why basic things like this are so complicated and getting pressure to look into going back to Salesforce, which realistically isn't really possible at least until our Dynamics contract ends.
