BOM lines not visible after Copy BOM in Business Central 27 until page refresh

Hi everyone,

After upgrading a customer test environment to Business Central 27, we noticed an issue with Copy BOM functionality.

The copying process itself works correctly – the BOM lines are created in the database. However, after the copy action completes, the lines are not displayed on the page. The user needs to leave the page and open it again to see the copied lines.

We tried forcing a page refresh by adding CurrPage.Update in both the header and lines logic. Unfortunately, this did not resolve the issue.

The same logic workes correctly in Business Central 25, which was the version the customer used before the upgrade.

Has anyone encountered a similar issue with subpages not refreshing after programmatic inserts in BC 27?
Are there any known changes in page update behavior that could affect this scenario?

Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I've experienced the same, but haven't had time to report to Microsoft yet

Hi, I did not find this problem in the known issues of BC.
You can submit your question to the newly launched BC Viva Engage.

    Thanks.

    Hello,
This looks more like a page refresh/UI issue than a Copy BOM issue, since the lines are inserted correctly but the subpage doesn’t redraw immediately. CurrPage.Update() alone often isn’t enough here, especially if it’s called on the header page while the lines are shown in a part/subpage. I’d check the part control behavior first and make sure the lines page is refreshed from the correct context; Microsoft docs also note that page updates and subpage updates depend on CurrPage.Update([SaveRecord]) behavior and the part’s UpdatePropagation property. I’m not aware of an official Microsoft note saying BC27 changed this specifically for Copy BOM, so at the moment I’d treat it as a client refresh regression/behavior difference after upgrade rather than a functional BOM problem.

To update I have demonstrated this to Microsoft support this morning, they tested the issue in v27 and v28 and could replicate.

I will provide further updates when I have them.

I have spoken to Microsoft again today, they have confirmed an idea has been logged to change the page behaviour.

It was also noticed that the issue is actually just with the component subform, so after copying the bom, if you scroll up on that section, you will see the copied lines.
