Add custom workflow to solution in Dynamics CRM

When I try to add a custom workflow to an unmanaged solution by "Add Existing" button, it is done successfully.

But we I try to add the SAME workflow in code c# with "AddSolutionComponentRequest", it throws this error :

Subcomponent 21a41b15-9bf2-e611-80de-1458d0432720 cannot be added to the solution because the root component Workflow is missing.

Any help please.

    Hi,

    I believe the OOB workflow, which you used to call the custom workflow is not added to the solution.

    Please verify the OOB workflow that is calling the custom workflow is added to the solution or not.

    I understood nothing.

    I created a new workflow in the default solution (customize the system)  (so called "custom workflow" and not OOB)

    Then When I added it to a new solution with UI ==> OK

    But with "AddSolutionComponentRequest" (code c#) ==> Exception

    Knowing that "AddSolutionComponentRequest" works fine with OOB workflows

    Hi,

    I am trying to tell that you can not directly call the custom workflow, so you need to use the OOB workflow to call it.

    I think you yet to put a trigger point for the workflow.

    You can create a OOB workflow which would call your custom workflow. Then add these two components to your solution.
