Password typed incorrectly - User locked out

Posted on by 445

Hello,

Can anyone tell me how to unlock a user that has entered their password in too many times incorrectly?

Also where is this set up?  Is it possible to reset the lockout time until they can log back in?

 Thanks in advance!

Joanne

    Hi Sandip,

I think GP is messing with my head, lol!  I just tried again to lock myself as a user, typed in 3 times the incorrect password and received the message that I hit the max tries and GP would close.  So I tried logging in again expecting to get the error but it let me log in..... thank you for the link, I will check out the kb reference.

    Thanks,

    Joanne

Thank you for getting back to me Sandip.

I am familiar with SQL so I did as you mentioned.  I purposely locked myself out of GP and then went to my login, status but I don't see where I can change this.  There is under Status "Login is locked out" with a check box that is NOT checked and it doesn't allow me to check it anyways.

    Any suggestions here?

    Thanks,

    Joanne

It is locked out in SQL. Goto-->SQL Management Studio--> Security--->Login--Select user and right click for properties-->Status--> Unlock user.

*** If you are not familiar with sql please take expert help before making any changes in SQL

    Thanks

    Sandip
