Using Machine Learning on premise without Azure - Modification?

Hi to everyone,

if I will use an SQL Server on premise, my data which is used is stored on premise, I still need the Azure Machine Learning Account, because there I can find some predefined algorithms?

If I would like to use my own scripts with my own algorithms, there is the possibility to run them directly on my SQL Server, right? Then I can create my own algos to receive forecasts...?

With an API I can then transfer them to my application D365? But where can I tell D365 to use this data instead of Azure ML results? In the Demand forecasting parameters there is no possibility? Will this be a modification?

Thank you. Hope my questions are clear... I am just starting to investigate in this topic.

    Hi Punchili,

Are you talking about a replacement for existing MRP or cash flow forecast features?

    About MRP.

    Hi Punchili,

Officially, this case is not supported and you can add extensions only to update some data when standard logic finished planned orders creation.

Also, all planning optimization classes are internal and methods are private or non-hookable, so it means that you can't really extend it or modify. I think that your investigation could be started from debugging of mpsPlanningServiceClient.createHttpRequestMessage method, because here request to ML service is generated and check if you can address by parameters or somehow modify it.

Also, you can try to contact MS to share your case, they could be quite interested in it.

More details about extensibility of planning optimization in MS docs
