Dynamics 365 Portal - Data flow and security

Hello,
MY question is regarding how the data flows between the portal and the dynamics 365 (Database). Basically, I want to know, when submitting a form on the portal, with certain fields in it, what is the back end process. This is for security purpose, I just want to know if the data is stored at all at portal level (Or on a separate portal data cloud, azure...) or the portal is just a front and when i hit submit, all that is happening is the creation of a record on dynamics 365 level?

Any feedback or documentation would be appreciated. Feel free to get Techy and write details

Thanks
Charbel

    Hi Charbel,

Portal is  ASP.NET Web Application hosted in Azure. Except java script all other process happens in back end ( server side). When install a portal Microsoft host portal web app in azure ( cant access it).  Portal was from Adx studio and Microsoft acquired Adx studio few years back (https://community.adxstudio.com/products/adxstudio-portals/documentation/developers-guide/getting-started/creating-a-starter-web-application-project/)

Also Portal source is available for custom development

Have look the portal source code.

    Hi,

Yes correct, portal action like a front-end only, all the data is stored on the Dynamics 365 db, so when you submit your record it is transfer to CRM db by portal framework just like when you save record in CRM entity form, it is transfered to db.
