Migrating Sales Invoices with Inventory from QuickBooks Desktop 2022 to Business Central

We're trying to migrate sales invoices with inventory records from QuickBooks Desktop 2022 to Business Central. We attempted to use the Data Exporter Tool, but it's only compatible with QB 2017 and 2018. To work around this, we created a custom extension to import sales invoices, which includes creating sales headers and lines.

However, we're running into an issue with sales lines of type ITEM, as they require a warehouse location, which was not used in QB but is required in Business Central. When we try to post the imported sales invoices, we receive an error due to insufficient inventory.

One possible solution we're considering is importing purchase invoices first and then dealing with sales invoices. They are also dealing with BOMs
Is this the correct approach, or are there alternative solutions or best practices for importing sales invoices with inventory records into Business Central?
Any guidance or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Is this historical data? Typically, for the reasons you mentioned new implementations start with opening balances rather than posted historical data. As you mentioned, to bring sales, you need to bring purchases, and then you need to bring payments, its just a huge task. Most of the time you would keep access to the previous system to one or a few users and they refer to it as needed.

The location code can be set to be optional.

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.
