Use Item Short Name instead of Item Number

We would like to be able to enter the Item Short Name in the Item Transaction Entry window grid, instead of entering the Item Number.  Is this possible with VBA?  If so, does anyone have similar sample code they'd like to share?

Thank you, Kirk and Leslie.  I have played with SmartFill and it's a very cool tool.  I think we'll go with that.  Thanks again for your responses!

What will solve your problem is a product from Rockton Software THAT YOU WILL ABSOLUTELY LOVE!!! It's called SmartFill. In addition to solving your current issue, you will be able to expand that concept to any data entry window to cause it to look for data in any number of fields on that window.

Go to Rockton Software and give it a hard look. It's a fabulous product that you'll wonder how you ever lived without it once you install it.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

    Deborah,

Even attempting this is probably a bad idea for a number of reasons.

Before pursuing this further have you taken a look at Omni Search by Rockton Software? I think it may help you accomplish the end goal with compromising data integrity.

    Regards,

    Kirk
