Hi,

In BC14, we exploded a BOM (Assemble to order) in a sales quotes.

But, it is impossible to make an order, we have still the message included.

Is anyone has an idea?

Hi,

I come back for my customer who works with assembly to order items and need to send separatly the components.

I will send a request to Microsoft technical support in the next days.

Hope it will be solved.

Thanks, I ran to the similar issue as well when I used BOM to order. I think it is a bug.

I do not know how we can report it to Microsoft.

I tried with an assembly BOM to stock, It works.

It doesn't work with an assembly BOM to order.

That is strange. I can see in my environment that the first line shows up as comment. But I have no issue converting it to SO. It looks like a bug to me.

I wrote my steps here. if you let me know if your steps match mine or not then I can try to replicate the issue

1) I selected one Inventory item. I tried this with non-inventory item and had no success.

2) Then went to process to create Assm BOM for it.

3) Then add inventory item from step 1 in to Quote

4) Then explode the bom

5) Got the comment and etc

5) Convert to SO without issue.

Hi

The line type is blank. As blank type is equal to comment line in BC14. It doesn't cause any trouble usually.

That's why I don't understand that it creates an error.

I made test on others versions:

- BC18 : line appears as a comment type, but I have still error message

- BC17: lines appears as blank type, and stil error message.

I wish I could provide more info but I am not much familiar with Assembly BOM. I tried to build an assembly BOM in our environment and leave a few items without the Type in Assm BOM. The strange thing is those items showed up as Comment when I Explode BOM.

Can you check and see if items without Type in Assm BOM shows up as Comment when you Explode BOM or they show up as blank type?

When I explode a BOM this line appears.

Also, with a bom with others BOM included, I have this type of line for each BOM exploded.

I tried to delete only the first line without type, and I can make the order, even if the others lines without type are present.

That's why I mean there is a bug on this first line.
