we changed the safety time on the item card, how would you update time calculations in the existing PO lines?

BC calculated differently for newly added lines (line 2) than for previously existing lines (line 1), see here, after a change for safety time 10D-->1D, and updated SKUs with deletion of existing data:

They are both the same item!

Translation:

"Geplantes" -> PLannes Receipt Date

"Erwartetes" --> Expected Receipt Date

My guess is that the safety time is saved somewhere in the PO line and BC does not update this value.

We have a lot of PO lines where we have to update this time calculation. is there a way to to this without manually recreating every PO line and deleting the old ones?

This currently makes our MRP very untrustworthy, alas.

    Hi

    I am not aware of a standard way to proceed here.

    I understand your comment around a general update yes, whereas the fact to change it dynamically when changed at item card level could be a problem. Maybe this is a new agreement, starting with new purchase only. Hard to change all dynamically here.

    I see your point of a possible update button, but does not exist to my knowledge in standard.

    Kind regards

    Jerome

    thank you for the answer, Jerome!

    Yes, i expect the old line to update to the new Safety time value.

    I would expect at least one of the following:

    1) immediate recalculation of all PO lines based on the updated value

    2) being  able to adjust this value in the line, directly, like. e.g. warehouse throughput time. (actually preferred method)

    3) have a batch recalculation / updating function per PO, to update lines, like in assembly orders

    there is _NO_ way of editing this value, through the IU, then?

    My current solution would be to use rapidstart: open ALL POs, export PO line table, adjust values, reimport.

    I am very unhappy with this, since we are in the process of individually adjusting LT and safety time values - i don't want to do this regularly.

    Hi

    So you mean that you added safety lead time 10 days at item card level, then created a purchase order and added a line.

    Next would be to change safety lead time from 10 days to 1, and then create a new line into the purchase order. You expect both lines to be updated?

    If you update item card and run the req worksheet for example, system will propose you to cancel and create new purchase order if these are part of planning date run (or reschedule depending on your item card setup).

    Now, if this is manual, then yes no update is done on already entered lines.  Safety lead time is stored at line level (purchase line table)
