We currently use CRM Online 2011 and are upgrading to CRM Online 2013. How do I test our customizations in the 30 day trial version of CRM 2013?

I don't think you can create a CRM 2011 solution and import it into CRM 2013.  Instead you will have to check the customization code using various tools which I have listed below.

You will be able to use CRM 2013 to get use to the new system

You will need to use the Validation tool

    http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=30151

You will need to check your JavaScript

    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/crm/archive/2013/08/23/check-your-javascript-code-to-prepare-for-your-upgrade.aspx

This is a good blog about the upgrade

This document will help, although it does focus on premise upgrade

I have tried using the custom code validation tool, but it comes up blank. How do I delete the "null" web resources? Will these solutions automatically be transferred during the upgrade if they are compatible?
