Post Cycle Count to Different Inventory Adjm G/L Account than Defined One in Posting Setup

Hi

Is it possible when we use Item Journal or Physical Inventory Journal and we count items we decide which Inventory Adjm G/L account we want to post the result?

I know we can defined "Inventory Adjm Account" in Posting Setup. But sometimes we want to post the transactions to different Adjm Account and not the default one.

Thanks

Thanks Kim. That is a great suggestion. I never thought of that method.

I would rather see you change the Gen Bus Posting Group. Setting up business groups for Obsolete, Damaged, etc and directly the associated general posting setup to the desired general ledger accounts works well.

I like to leave by Gen Prod Posting Group entact for reporting purposes.

Hi, Although I don't recommend doing this, I think you can display the Gen. Prod. Posting Group field on the Item journal and then modify it in this particular case. Of course, the settings of the posting group you choose are still required.

    Hope this will help.

    Thanks.
