In the Custom Portal my Subject Tree is displayed with all options expanded however I would like to create a dropdown menu like it is in the CRM Customer Service. Any suggestions how to solve this with JAVASCRIPT?

What you need is that show subject are rendered as tree structure, just like subject field in the case form, right?
Unfortunately, it seems that you can't achieve it in the portal.

First of all thank you for your fast reply!
In fact I did explain it poorly! The screenshot provided by you is exactly the issue I am trying to solve.
Under the subject "Query" there are 2 sub-subjects "Information" and Products". We want to only show the sub-subjects when we click on "Query". More like a 2 Step Dropdown (I think within the customer service application it is that way)
Currently we see all subject values expanded like the screenshot provided by you shows.

Can you provide screenshot for subject tree in the portal?
In fact, one subject field show dropdown list in the case entity form in the Customer Self-Service portal template.
