    Hi Sneha,

Just importing products wont work here, you need to import price list and price list items too. I suggest you to export data template for products, price lists and price list items from CRM.

Fill all data templates with corresponding information and then.

    • Import Price List data template.
    • Import Products data template.
    • Import Price List Item data template.

For understanding of products suggest you to read this

    http://www.microsoft.com/en-US/dynamics/crm-customer-center/classify-products-and-bundles-into-product-families.aspx

    Hope it helps!

    Hi Sneha,

It sounds as if you are making some progress.

What is the error you are getting?

Parent Product and Bundle are just ways of grouping products.

You should be able to bring product records in with both of those fields blank.

Have you brought in your Contact records yet?

If not you can create a spreadsheet with columns for First Name, Last Name, Business Number, Mobil Number, Company Name  in a similar way as you brought in your Accounts.

You record a phone call / track/send an email through Activity records in CRM.

Do you use Outlook?  Has the Outlook/CRM integration already been set up?

    Hello Sneha,

To create a mail or a phone call, click on quick create (That would be the + sign at top of your ribbon)

Icons are arranged as tasks, phone calls, mails and Appointments.

    Phone.PNG

Once you click on Phone call or email it will take it its respective form where you would have to select recipients accordingly.

Since you are new to CRM, I suggest you to read this too.

    Hope it helps!

    Hi Sneha,

Abhishek is right - there are some things you need to understand and set up before you bring in your list of products.

This link gives you a great overview - and a picture I would print out and work with.

    www.microsoft.com/.../set-up-a-product-catalog-walkthrough.aspx

Product ID is like a product number (that you might have as well as a Product Name and product Description).  It is a key field in CRM.  You can put your product name into both the product name and product ID fields if you want to.

This link is great for basic training e.g. How to create Activities etc.  There are slight differences between CRM 2013 & 2015 - but the look and feel is very similar.

    Sneha,

You need to assign a product Id in your data template, if that field is missing the import job shall not be successful.

Your template would be something like this

    ID,Product Name,Subject,Unit Group,Default Unit,Decimals Supported

    123654,Test import product,Default Subject,Default Unit,Primary Unit,2

In these fields, lookup type fields are -Subject,Unit Group and Default Unit. Here,Default Subject is the Title of an existing Sample Subject,Default Unit is the Name of an existing Unit Group and Primary Unit is the Name of a existing Unit in the Default Unit (Unit Group). This file gets imported as it is.
