Ability to attach scan files to BP Expense reports

Does anybody know of a solution that allows a user to attach a scan or file of their receipts to a Business Portal Expense report for Dynamics SL?

I know that that there are many imaging integrated solutions that work with the VB/core product, but can't find any that allow a user to attach using Business Portal.

We're using SL 6.5 SP2 and BP 3.0.

Thanks.

This would dramatically reduce the number of steps required in this process and the number of associated files.  If anyone has a solution to attaching files to the expense from in BP 4.0, or even 3.0, that would be marvelous.

    Dear Mehleben,

    Hello my name is Jana

    Scope

How can users attach scans of receipts or other documents to BP expense documents.

    Assessment

There is a way to do this in Sharepoint, below is an example of Flexible billings invoicing , but I'm guessing this could be done with employee expense reports as well.

With very little configuration you can publish Solomon documents to Sharepoint from 'within' SL

    System Requirement:
    Solomon (6.0 and above)
    Office 2003 and above
    Windows Sharepoint Server
Window XP, 2003 (not sure about vista...)

Two features that make this possible:

When you install office 2003 you get a new printer. The 'Microsoft Office Document Image Writer' printer. This document format is similar in concept to .pdf files.

With Windows XP you can map a network drive to any part of a Windows Share Point site.

    System configuration
I map a drive to our WSS root site
Each customer employee has their own sub-site
Each customer WSS site has a "document library" named invoices

    User Experience
It's the 15th of the month and all my invoices have to go out.
I log into solomon and change my printer to the 'Microsoft Office Document Image Writer' printer.
I print out a list of Approved invoices (report BI430)
I open Invoice Print in Flexible Billings, and select the whole range of invoices to print. As each invoice prints the File Save As dialog will pop open.
I choose the mapped drive (say the S for example) and pick the customer and invoice subdirectory. (s:\C315\Invoices) and I name the file with the draft number, in order from the BI430 report.
Because My customers are already subscribed to additions to these document libraries they automatically get an email with a direct link to their invoice. A great experience for my customers, and I get my invoices to my customer's inbox (without paying postage) by Noon on the 15th.

    Plan

Let me know if this helps!

    Best Regards,

    Jana Macdonald

I sure wish there was a native file attachment function in Business Portal.  I get hit with this question a lot from our end users.  It seems like a no-brainer function that should in there, along with the ability to see line item comments when doing approvals.
